The head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), Vicente Zeballos, announced today the <span style=\"color: #2289a3\"><strong>approval of the regulations<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #2289a3\"><strong>of Law No. 30947 \u2013 Mental Health Law, as well as the creation of the National Mental Health Council, which will monitor the country\u2019s Mental Health Policy<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"s5 translation-block\"><strong><span style=\"color: #2289a3\">The National Mental Health Council will be the organization responsible for monitoring the National Mental Health Policy<\/span><\/strong>, which was also approved today. \u201cThe preparation and approval of a National Mental Health Policy has been ordered, which was previously considered a component of the National Health Policy. In this case, we will provide it with priority and specialized attention. Likewise, in order to be responsible for monitoring the Mental Health Policy, the creation of the National Mental Health Council has been established,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"s5 translation-block\">Zeballos Salinas recalled that since May, the regulations of Law No. 30947 \u2013 Mental Health Law had been pending, and they will be published tomorrow in the official newspaper El Peruano. The head of the PCM also explained that this <strong><span style=\"color: #2289a3\">regulation will be accompanied by a series of measures that will make the Government\u2019s concern and commitment regarding mental health a reality<\/span><\/strong>, including the implementation of more community mental health centers and protected homes.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"s5 translation-block\">The commitment is to <strong><span style=\"color: #2289a3\">implement 50 new community mental health centers and 35 new protected homes in different regions of the country by July 2021<\/span><\/strong>.
