We’re excited to share some wonderful news with you: we will be participating in the 1st Latin American Meeting on Mental Health and Social Movements in Santiago, Chile! On Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12, during this event, we will have the opportunity to present our work to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by using communication as a tool to promote change in behaviors, attitudes, and practices.
Lucero Andaluz, co-founder and Director of Communications and Advocacy at De-mentes, will represent our organization at the event and will be one of the featured speakers. She will share the stage with representatives from other social movements dedicated to mental health across Latin America, including participants from Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, and other countries.
The goal of this 1st Latin American Meeting on Mental Health and Social Movements is to create a space for critical reflection and discussion on current issues affecting mental health throughout Latin America. Through a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach, the event aims to jointly develop guidelines and perspectives to strengthen a community-based mental health model founded on strong ethical principles, scientific rigor, and social equity across the region.
